The new county season kicks off this Sunday (24-09-17) as Hertfordshire compete against the other Eastern Counties in the Team Bowl event being held at Littleport Leisure Centre.

The new selection committee of David Danby, Jack Smalley & Paul Harris have selected their team (detailed below)

More Herts Success at ECBA C of C

Fresh from picking up the fours and team titles at the ECCBA version Hertfordshire headed to Stanley, County Durham over the weekend of 3/4 June to compete in the English Carpet Bowls Association Champion of Champions event.


 

I am very pleased to say that Sandra Gammage, Ron Hart, Rebecca Hearn & Craig Hearn added the English title to the Eastern Counties title they won. Thomas Ellis, Jack Smalley and Jason Ellis also took home the triples title (for their first National Title). The pairs finished 4th, the singles 8th and we were 3rd overall in the team event.

Herts Success at ECCBA C of C

Hertfordshire hosted the Eastern Counties Champion of Champions event at Applecroft School on Sunday 14th May 2017. 


I am very pleased to report that we had a very successful day with Sandra Gammage, Ron Hart, Rebecca Hearn & Craig Hearn taking home the fours title. With the triples and singles finishing as runners up and the pairs finishing fourth we also retained our team title.

Essendon Complete League & Cup Double

Essendon defeated Stanstead Abbotts in the SCAPA Cup final 6-2 to win the competition for the third year in a row and complete a league and cup double after also claiming the first division. Congratulations to Essendon and commiserations to Stanstead Abbotts who played their part in a good final. Click on the link below to see the full draw/results.

Symonds Green/Essendon win County Fours

Symonds Green, with a little help from Essendon, won the county fours which was held at Applecroft School on Sunday 23rd April 2017. Sandra Gammage (Essendon), Ron Hart, Rebecca Hearn & Craig Hearn (Symonds Green) defeated Thomas Ellis, Harry Wilson, Jack Smalley & Jason Ellis (Symonds Green) in the final 14-6. Braughing edge towards SCAPA Final

Braughing have won their first leg of their SCAPA semi-final against two time defending champions Essendon 6-2. The second leg is to be played this evening (11-04-2017). Little Hadham win 2nd Division

Congratulations to Little Hadham who pipped Braughing to the 2nd division title with an impressive 8-0 win away at Shenley. That result means that they seal promotion to the 1st division.

Division 1 Update

The first division is approaching its conclusion with just one game left to play. The league table on the links below is missing a 4-4 draw between Symonds Green & Stanstead Abbotts. Thefore, the final fixture is Essendon at home to Symonds Green. Anything other than an 8-0 loss will be good enough to secure Essendon the title.

Final Season Performance 16-17

Following the completion of the final event on Sunday (09-04-17), the final points total list has been updated. Congratulations to Thomas Ellis who finished top of the list on 42 points. This is the highest total recorded since the statistics began (2013/2014). Thomas finished two points ahead of Sandra Gammage & David Danby, there was then a gap of a further five points to Jason Ellis & Jack Smalley.
