Hertfordshire finished in last place at the recent (12-04-15) ECCBA Six Counties competition at Braintree Leisure Centre (hosted by Cambridgeshire).
After our fantastic league performance we went in to the event high on confidence and hoping to challenge for the title, however we were last place for pretty much the whole day and the large majority of the squad massively under performed. We can only hope that it was just a bad day at the office and that it does not dent our belief that we are now a team that can challenge closer to the top rather than the bottom.
The match report (does not make for good reading) is now available under;

Hertfordshire suffered a narrow 22-14 away defeat to Suffolk on Sunday 15th February. The result makes winning the league almost impossible now but leaves us in a fantastic position to finish 2nd in the league.

Hertfordshire competed in the ECCBA Six Counties Tournament at Braintree Leisure Centre (Hosted by Bedfordshire) on Sunday 13th April 2014.
After such a great league season we were confident of securing a higher finish then normal. A rather disappointing day saw us finish on 23 points in 5th position. The event was won by Cambridgeshire.

Hertfordshire played their 5th and final ECCBA league game of the season at Ware Drill Hall on Sunday 16th March 2014.
In arguably our best display of the season we pushed Suffolk all the way and went down to a narrow 21-15 defeat. We were always in the game and lead 10-8 after 3 session and were locked at 12-12 after session 4. Even going into the final session 16-14 behind we had a chance to beat Suffolk for the first time if we won the session 5-1 or better. It was not to be as Suffolk held their nerve to take the final session and with it the league title. Congratulations to Suffolk who are worthy league winners.
Congratulations to all members of the county team who not only performed so well yesterday but throughout the course of the season. We finish in 4th place on 86 points, 10 points more than our previous best. We need to ensure that this is not a one off and continue to maintain our form and spirit for coming seasons. We have shown this year that we can compete and must continue to look to improve on what we have achieved this year.

Hertfordshire played their 4th ECCBA league game of the season at Milton on Sunday (16-02-14). Despite going into the match high on confidence and 3 points above Cambridgeshire in the league table we suffered a heavy 28-8 defeat.
We underperformed and were out bowled on the day and seemed to struggle on the quickish, swinging carpets and always seemed to be bowling a foot or more heavy. This result means we slip to fourth in the table (behind and Essex on shots) and will now have to score more against Suffolk in our final game then Essex score against Norfolk to finish 3rd.

Hertfordshire continued their impressive start to the ECCBA league season with a 24-12 win away at Norfolk yesterday (Sunday 19-01-14).
In a good all round performance all teams won at least one game with a special mention to the teams skipped by Rob Washbrook and Rebecca Hearn who managed to win all three games.
The victory moves us up to second place in the table, a position we have never even been close to before after three games. We go into the away match with Cambridgeshire on the 16th February three points above them in the league.
