1st Division Results

Some results in from the first division

Great Amwell 1-7 Essendon

Symonds Green 5-3 Stanstead Abbotts (+6 shots in Symonds Green favour)

These results leave Symonds Green at the top of the table with 40 points from their 7 matches.Stanstead Abbotts will have to relinquish their title, they have completed their 8 matches and finish on 37 points. Essendon who have their final game at home to Symonds Green have 35 points. They will need to win that match either 7-1 or 8-0 to win the title. This will be a big ask as Symonds Green have not yet lost a game this season, winning 6 and drawing 1.

Great Amwell have now completed their matches and finish with 25 points from their 8 matches. Bedmond finished in 5th place with 15 points from their 8 games and will make an immediate return to the 2nd tier. Amwell will have to wait to see how the league is structured next season before knowing which division they will be playing in.

Braughing win 2nd Division

Congratulations to Braughing who have won the 2nd division.

Playing their final fixture at home to Little Hadham with a 5 point advantage, Braughing just needed two points to secure an immediate return to the 1st division. A great performance some them convincingly beat their nearest challengers and take the league title. Little Hadham secured the runners up spot with Hertford Heath in 3rd and Shenley in 4th.

Hertfordshire finished up their ECCBA league campaign with a hard earned 18-18 draw with Essex at Ware Drill Hall on Sunday 15th March 2015. The result meant we finished runners up to Suffolk in the league with 107 points, our new best ever season, beating least year effort of 86 points.

Congratulations to all members of the squad and thank you for your efforts. The match report from the game can be found under;

We finish the season with the 6 counties event being held at Braintree Leisure Centre on Sunday 12th April. Good luck to all those selected.

County Season Performance

The season points total is now up to date following the match with Essex last Sunday and can be found in;

Results & Stats > County Season Performance

Marilyn Cook & Pete Cook (Marilyn ahead on shots) still have a slender one point lead at the top from David Danby and Sandra Gammage.

With 10 points being up for grabs at the six counties there are 18 players still in with a mathematical chance of being top points scorer.

ECCBA League Performance

After completion of our final ECCBA league fixture against Essex, we can now reveal the top points scorer in ECCBA league fixtures only.

Well done to Thomas Ellis, Andy Cobbold, Sandra Gammage and David Danby who played together all season and finished with 23/30 points, a great effort.

They were pushed all the way by Marilyn & Pete Cook who finished on 21/30. Out of the 28 bowlers used, 25 of them averaged more than 1 point per game. In other words almost everybody won more games then they lost. The full list can be found under;

Last years winners Gill Baraclough and Rob Washbrook (18 points) would have only been good enough for 8th this year. Last years 3rd place (16 points) went down as far as 17th place in this years standings. Well done everybody, this figures show what a fantastic season we have had.

Results from 1st Division

Posted by Pmcook1 on March 23, 2015 at 9:45 AM Comments comments (0)

Essendon 6-2 Bedmond (+ 8 shots in Essendon’s favour)

Stanstead Abbotts 6-2 Great Amwell (+30 shots in Stanstead Abbotts favour)

Bedmond 0-8 Symonds Green (+ 28 shots in Symonds Green favour)

These results leave Symonds Green in a strong position to reclaim their title taken from them last season. They lead the way on 35 points (from 6 matches). Stanstead Abbotts are just a point behind but only have one match left to play. Essendon are seven points behind the leaders but do still have two matches left to play. Great Amwell are in 4th place on 24 points with one fixture left to play. Bedmond have completed their matches and will probably be a little disappointed to have only picked up 15 points.

Although Symonds Green have the advantage it could still be a close finish as there two remaining games are against their closest rivals. They play Stanstead Abbotts at home and Essendon away. Stanstead Abbotts will need a convincing win to have any chance of winning the league. Whilst Essendon will need to beat Symonds Green and score more away to Great Amwell then Symonds Green score at home.

Result from the 2nd Division

Posted by Pmcook1 on March 23, 2015 at 9:40 AM Comments comments (0)

Little Hadham 4-4 Braughing (+ 9 shots in Braughing’s favour)

A vital game in the destiny of the 2nd division title and Braughing were able to secure a 4-4 draw. This result leaves Braughing with a 10 point advantage over Little Hadham (who have a game in hand). Little Hadham will now need to pick up a large win at Shenley and then hope to also defeat Braughing away from home to try and overhaul them.
