Symonds Green Win First Division

Posted by Pmcook1 on April 26, 2016 at 3:45 AM Comments comments (0)

Symonds Green have retained the first division title after beating there nearest rivals Stanstead Abbotts 8-0. The win means that they can now not be caught at the top of the table as they have opened up a 10 point advantage. Below are other recent results from the 1st division;

Symonds Green 8-0 Stanstead Abbotts

Stanstead Abbotts 6-2 Little Hadham

Little Hadham 6-2 Braughing

These results mean that Little Hadham have been unable to maintain their first division status as they have been relegated. Just a single point separates Braughing & Essendon (who still have each other to play), Essendon have a game in hand away at champions elect Symonds Green.

Combined Season Performance

Posted by Pmcook1 on April 14, 2016 at 3:20 AM Comments comments (0)

As at the end of the current (2015/2016) season it is Marilyn Cook who leads the combined season performance table (starting from the 2013/2014 season) with 105 points from 99 matches played. Pete Cook is the only other player to break the 100 point barrier with 101 from 88 matches played. Dave Smith, Rebecca Hearn & Ian Carter complete the top five.

A mention for Marilyn, Mick Cook & Dave Smith who are the only three players to have been ever presents in that time having played in all 99 matches.

Second Division Title

Congratulations to Bedmond who have won the 2nd division and secured an immediate return to the top tier!!

They have a game to play but on 30 points can not be caught by any of the other teams. Hertford Heath having played all their matches look set to join them, they have 25 points.

Great Amwell can still catch them but will need to score at least seven points in their final fixture away to Bedmond. Shenley are in 4th place with 15 points from their six matches.

First Division Update

Posted by Pmcook1 on April 14, 2016 at 3:05 AM Comments comments (0)

With the end of season now approaching there is still plenty to play for in the second division.

With all teams having played six matches it is the defending champions Symonds Green who lead the way with 34 points, Stanstead Abbotts the 2014 champions are two points behind. It is all to play for when the two teams meet at Symonds Green tonight (14-04-16) they both have one remaining home game after tonight’s match with Symonds Green playing Essendon and Stanstead Abbotts playing Little Hadham.

At the other end of the table Little Hadham have found their first season back in the first division a difficult one as they are in last placewith 11 points and a return to the 2nd division looks probable. It is going to be a close finish as to who joins them with Braughing in 4th on 20 points and Essendon just three points above them.
