The SCAPA cup draw has been made and can be seen on the website under Results & Stats > Hertfordshire Club League > SCAPA Cup Draw & Results.
Symonds Green will be looking to defend their title and they will play the winner of Stanstead Abbotts (who they beat in the final last year) and Hertford Heath in the Quarter Final. The other Quarter Final matches see an all 1st division clash as Essendon face Parsonage. Little Hadham of the 2nd division will try to pull off an upset as they face 1st division Braughing. The final fixture sees an all 2nd division clash as Great Amwell face Shenley.
The quarter finals are scheduled to be played in January and February and the semi final in March. The final has been provisionally booked for Saturday the 10th May at Essendon Village Hall. If Essendon reach the final then this will be held at an alternate venue which will probably be Symonds Green. On the evening of the final the awards for the county tournamnts and league and SCAPA tournaments will also be presented.

Further games have been played in the 1st and 2nd divisions and the results are detailed below (home team shown first);
1st Division
Braughing 6-2 Parsonage (Braughing +33 Shots)
2nd Division
Hertford Heath 4-4 Shenley (Hertford Heath +23 shots)
Bedmond 7-1 Hertford Heath (Bedmond +29 shots)
Little Hadham 3-5 Bedmond (Bedmond +2 shots)
These results have really started to see the leagues take shape. Stanstead Abbotts hold a 7 point lead at the top of the 1st division over defending champions Symonds Green. Although they have played all three of their games at home and 3rd placed Essendon (9 points behind) have a game in hand. Parsonage are struggling slightly at the bottom but they have played all three of their games away from home. They are very difficult to beat at home so I would expect to see them to start picking up more points.
In the 2nd division it is very close with just 3 points separating the top 4 teams and only 7 points separating the whole division. Bedmond lead the way on 17 points (from 3 games) closely followed by Great Amwell on 16 points (from 3 games), Little Hadam on 15 points (from 4 games) and Hertford Heath on 14 points (from 4 games).

After the relatively low turnout for the fours, this is a reminder that the triples is on 12th January. Start organising your teams now!
Lets try and get at least 20 entries to make this a tournament that is difficult to win! If you only have 1 or 2 bowlers that want to play let us know and we can put something up on the website to get teams together from different clubs

Hertfordshire started off the ECCBA league season with a great 21-15 away win at Essex.
At a venue (Braintree) where we have never done too well in the past we got off to a great start winning the first session 6-0. With the momentum well and truly behind us and some excellent support from the sidelines we took all three games in the next session to open up a 12-0 lead.
As we knew they would Essex hit back at us and got their first points of the day as they took 2 out of the 3 games to cut the deficit to 10 points at 14-4. That scoreline was repeated in the next session as Essex cut the lead again to 16-8.
The next session was an Important one as although Essex won 2 of the 3 games again, the two points for us meant we had reached 18 and therefore had secured at least a draw in the match.
Going into the final session we needed to win at least 1 of the three games to secure the win. We managed a win and a draw to finish up with an impressive 21-15 win. The teams performed as per below;
H1 : Paul Harris, Roy Harding , Sandra Gammage & David Danby 4 points
H2 : Dave Smith , Nathan Brown, Jonathan Carter & Craig Hearn 4 points
H3 : Jacqui Harris, Jackie Spearman , Andy Cobbold & Margaret Forrest. 2 points
H4 : Alan Bull, Mike Bennett , Marilyn Cook & Pete Cook. 5 points
H5 : Mary Cobbold , Gill Baraclough, Vince Tamoro & Rob Washbrook. 4 points
H6 : Ian Carter, Sylvia Page, Mick Cook & Rebecca Hearn. 2 points
Well done to everybody, a great bowling performance and a fantastic result. I felt like that we had a great team spirit today and the support we gave each other from the sidelines was no doubt an important factor . Lets carry it on when we welcome Bedfordshire to the Drill hall in two weeks time!

The Hertfordshire County Fours took place yesterday at Ware Drill Hall. The fourteen teams were split into 3 groups with the three group winners and the best runner up advancing to the last 4.
Both semi finals were very close with the scores being tied going into the final end. Stanstead Abbotts (skipped by Pete Cook) the group 1 winners defeated Symonds Green (Skipped by Craig Hearn) the group 2 winners. Bedmond (skipped by Margaret Forrest) the group 3 winners defeated Shenley (skipped by Ivy Fennell) the best runner up.
The final was another closely contested match. Bedmond went into the final end leading by a single shot but Stanstead Abbotts managed to secure the two shots they needed to take the title.
