The new club season is approaching fast and details of the fixtures are now available on the website.

The closing date has now passed for entries. Whilst we have only filled 24 of the 40 available spaces it is considerably more than what we get for our county competitions.

The draw for the tournament is taking place at the Herts committee meeting tonight so look out for who is playing who here early next week.

Is anybody aware of clubs bowling in Hertfordshire that are not competing in the league?

I recently visited Watton-At-Stone (bowl on a Wednesday afternoon) to give them an entry form for the memorial 4's and to

enquire about them re-joining the league. Travel is an issue for them so whilst they won't be re-joining our league we can

hopefully get them along to some of our open/county events. Another club that continues to play (but not in our league) is Bramfield. I made some enquiries recently and found out that they do still play on a Monday evening so will be going along soon to make contact and see if they have any plane on returning to league action.

A reminder that the closing date for entries is this Sunday (25th August), there are still spaces available so get your entry form in before Sunday so you can take part in this event.

Entries for this tournament being held on Sunday 8th September at Ware Drill Hall are begining to come through.

We do still however have quite a few spare spaces (closing date for entires 25th August) it would be really good to try and fill this

event up or get as close to 40 entries as possible. The costs of the drill hall is expensive and we need a high number of entries to enable us

to donate as much as possible to the Nursing Home that took care of Mick and also to help raise funds to support the county team at Potters.

If you can't make up a whole team then let me know how many you have, there may be people from other clubs looking for people to bowl with!
