Updated Season Performance

Posted by Pmcook1 on November 22, 2016 at 4:50 AM Comments comments (0)

After the recent National Championships we have no leaders in the season performance table. Sandra Gammage & Thomas Ellis have moved to the top of the table with 18 points after picking up 12 points last weekend. Jack Smalley who led the way after the Team Bowl has slipped down to third just a single point behind. Andy Cobbold & David Danby (who played with Thomas & Sandra at the Nationals) complete the top five, a further point adrift. Six points then separates 6th place all the way down to 22nd.

First Division Results

Posted by Pmcook1 on October 19, 2016 at 3:15 AM Comments comments (0)

The new league season is up and running and we have some early results through from the first division;

Bedmond 5-3 Stanstead Abbotts

Symonds Green 6-2 Hertford Heath

Essendon 8-0 Bedmond

Three matches played and three home wins an early indication that home form will be key and the teams who pick up points away from home will go well

Mick & Sandra Hearn Memorial 4's

Posted by Pmcook1 on October 13, 2016 at 10:00 AM Comments comments (0)

We recently held our 4th Mick & Sandra Hearn Memorial 4's on Sunday 18th September at the Ware Drill Hall. The event saw 18 teams
competing for the title.

The teams were split into four groups with the winner and runner up from each group advancing to the knock out stages. After some good quarter finals the semi finals saw T Runnacles team of Herts/Suffolk defeat S Gammage's team. In the other semi final C Hearn's team got the better of D Clement's team of Fulbourn (Cambs.).

The final would therefore be between Harry Wilson, Mick Cook, Ron Hart & Craig Hearn and Thomas Ellis, Clint Watling, Jack Smalley and Tom Runnacles. It was a close game and a good standard but eventually it was Tom's team that prevailed with their consistent bowling throughout the day making them deserved winners.
