Each year Hertfordshire compete in the ECBA National Chamiponships. This event is currently held in November and is currently played at Potters in Hopton, Norfolk.
The event sees 6 teams of fours selected for each of the 9 competing counties. Each team of four plays one game against the other county. Therefore, each team plays 8 games and each county plays a total of 48 games in total.
Two points are awarded for a win and one point for a draw. The county with the most points at the end of the weekend crowned as champions.
Inter County Championships
This sees the winners of the Eastern Counties and Northern leagues play off against each other to decide the overall champion. Six teams of fours from each county play off against each other. This event is usually played on the Friday night before the National Championships
Chamipon of Champions
In addition to the National Championships, each year the member counties select their champion in each of the following disciplines, Singles, Pairs, Triples and Rinks (Fours).
These teams all meet together, playing each of the representatives from the other counties, to compete for the titles in each of the four disciplines. There is also an award for the county that comes out top overall.
ECBA Fours & Triples
Triples and Fours tournaments, are also held as national titles, and are played at different venues on an annual basis, moving around the counties, alternating between the North and the East, and organised by the local association.
ECBA Festival of Bowls
This event is held over a week long period and sees bowlers compete in tournaments of fours, pairs and singles.
