Carpet Bowls is a variant of indoor/short mat bowls and is played at league and county level mainly in the Eastern and Northern counties of England.

Hertfordshire carpet bowls association is an affiliated member of the Eastern Counties Carpet Bowls Association (ECCBA) and the English Carpet Bowls Associaition (ECBA). Hertfordshire complete in Eastern Counties and National competitions along with Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk (ECCBA), Durham, North Tyneside, Northumberland, South Tyneside and Sunderland.

There is currently a two-tiered league which runs in Hertfordshire mainly during the winter months (September-April) and a cup competition runs alongside this at the same time.
